Victoria Moped Trip - Recap
A fun day in the sun to ride Mopeds
On June 7th 2008, the BLaH crew took off to the island for a fun day in the sun on mopeds, and to be a bit touristy.
The day started by waking up 6am in the morning to get ready and catch the 8am ferry. Paying only $5 for a walk-in ferry trip, followed by a $2.50 bus ride to downtown Victoria, we realzed that the total cost so far was cheaper than paying for the all-day parking ticket back at the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal.
After filling up at Milestones for lunch, we started walking down towards the Moped rentals, passing by and snapping pictures of the Harbour, the Parliament Building, the Fairmont Empress Hotel, and other site seeing things.
Now you might think a Moped is a pansy version of a motorcycle. But with 14 other friends beside you riding on Mopeds, your opinion will instantly change. Especially when you're all stopped at an intersection and the light hits green, the roar coming out of all the engine noises at the same time gives you a ton of attention.

Equiped with a printed map for our mopeding and a modded Sony PSP with an attached GPS unit, we headed out for our scenic drive along the southern coast of Victoria. Driving along the beautiful and jaw dropping view of the coastline, we made multiple pitstopps, snapping as many pictures as we can. We passed by a very nice looking golf course, some rich looking houses, and then chased some wild rabbits at UVIC. Finally, our Moped tour ended with a breath-taking view of the entire city of Victoria at Mount Tolmie.

To end things further, we cooled down and ate dinner at a nearby Seafood restaurant by the harbour. We cooled down even more by eating ice cream at Marble Slab. After arriving back at Vancouver at 11pm, I'd say this was the best well-spent day I've had.
