BLaH exec meeting Oct 8th, 2009

Trail mix

• the health and counselling services also wants collaborate
• general meetings bi weekly 11:30-12:30pm mondays trail mix will follow at 12:30-1:30pm

Biz challenge

• midterm week not a lot of people showed up
• basketball next week

Hip hop

• tuesday at 12:30-1:30pm
• director of communications to help with the promo

Sports Night

• 70-80 people came
• profs came and give gifts
• pros:
• lots of people ahd fun
• cons:
• start up slow
• people’s expectations of when games started
• profs didn’t show up

BMP events

• first event is Oct 29th the going to fright night
• no promotions done yet
• Wisam is in charge of the marketing
• we’ll do a sports night for BMP in the spring

Project managing

• Nick wants to teach some karate (Yushadha = point of contact)
• circuit training p90x

Volleyball

• volleyball tournament for the volleyball club
• we’re doing a fundraiser for them
• booking through volleyball club so there is more leverage but we need to do promotions
• after party event
• week 9/10 tentatively

JDC bbq

• Nov. 10
• Ken project managing
• goal:fill health permit to go through by friday
• June is working on the big banner
• raising money for the terry fox foundation
• attendance of at least 50 members from JDC
• in convo mall food is going to be fixed prices (low)

Charity clubbing fundraiser

• venue is unsure
• club for the cure night
• Leon project managing with Ryan Mah
• might contact CAC to bring their people out
• tentatively right after finals sort of like a finals relief
• big brothers and sisters/sunshine foundation/ make a wish foundation ~~ potential charities
• competition SMA or CACso we might do a collaboration
• goal: 200 tickets

Stress management workshop

• Shirley and Elizabeth is going to send information to make poster tomorrow and post it monday to friday and promote to lectures

• expenses will be kept to a minimum

Sustainability challenge

• make a bunch of videos like the dodgeball ones to promote it

Blog

• try to blog on the website
• have a blogging tutorial next exec meeting
• can blog about our events and we can put videos in there

Communications person

• the new communication persons can do some of the blogs and write article for buzz

Recruitment assistance

• go to the events, event promotion and try to socialize bringing an interest in BLaH
• give them the title so they feel part of the club
• Amanda can retrain them

Money situation

• we have the whole core funding
• we have $850ccounted for Sports night
• Kumar has $200/300 in an account in surrey
• have $200 something in the sfss trust account
