PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
SMA helps you to develop the skills you need to face the working force. You will have access to skill development workshops such as Photoshop, volunteer opportunities and lots more. A more benefital opportunity is to become an exec where you can hands-on experience in organizing tons of huge events, projects and more. This will help you build your resume and give you the experience you need!
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
SMA also gives you experience that you need in order to be the best that you can be. Throughout the year, SMA organizes well-known competitions that you can’t miss. Brand Wars is an intercollegiate marketing competition that SMA organizes that involves one major company, one case, and one product to sell. We also bring you Markstrat, a competition where you make key strategic decisions in a computer simulated business environment.
JOB POSTINGS
SMA offers you frequent job postings that lets you in on who’s hiring and how you get gain more experience. We will send you marketing- related job opportunities where applying is one mouse click away. Many of these opportunities may not be available elsewhere besides from SMA’s own source.
SPEAKER WORKSHOPS
SMA invites speakers from the marketing industry to talk about their professions, day to day routines, education, experiences and more. This lets you get the inside scoop on what really happens in the career of marketing and educate you on how you can enter the field. Events like Career in Focus will features marketing professionals from a variety of industries to share their personal experiences in reaching where they are today.
AGENCY TOURS
Agency tours gives marketing students an opportunity a chance to enter into working environments of marketing related firms and corporations. This gives them a chance to get a tour on what happens in the office as well as the setting that they may work in the future. Our most recent tour was at Rethink and Cowie and Fox, the marketing firm for Lululemon and Swim Co.
NETWORK WITH INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS
Interacting with future employers and business leaders Marketers’ Night his annual signature event is usually held in the Fall. This event features speakers and guests from the marketing industry and will provide you with the opportunity to network with them. Networking is one of the more crucial skills to develop in the business world. This gives the employer a chance to get to know you and potentially pick you over someone that they have not met. So Make a good impression at Marketers’ Night.
MEET OTHER MARKETING STUDENTS
Who wants to spend all their time with books when you can meet people! SMA gives you an opportunity to get to know other students that share the same passion and vision as you. We know that university does not provide the best settling to socialize at times so SMA is here to help interact and connect with other students

SMA is working hard to bring you the best social events of the semester! From Club Nights to scavenger hunts, anything is possible! The social events are a time for all SMA members to chill, relax, and hang out with each other. A past success at Plaza where we partied hard after midterms. So don’t’ hesitate, Come out to our events, and party hard!
