SMA COMMITTEES

SMA Executives are able to gain relevant marketing experience by participating in various committees.

EVENT COMMITTEES

These committees are created when we're planning an event. Since each seperate event formulates a new committee, there's lots of opportunity for you to volunteer to coordinate or help out at the event! Keep an eye out on the News page and attend the weekly General Meetings to get involved in an event.

CORPORATE RELATIONS

Do you want to know the secret to success in the real world - something they don't teach in class? Come join SMA's CR Committee and see how working with different companies will get you places! Our events and projects will allow you to network with some of the biggest names in the industry. Through CR, you will learn how to effectively contact companies for sponsorship, develop promotional skills by working side-by-side with industry professionals to promote their companies, and build and maintain business relationships - all to help set your career up!

FINANCE

If you are interested in finance, this is the place for you! The finance committee is in charge of developing budgets for event coordinators, communicating financial procedures, improving the financial processes, and maintaining the club's financial assets. This committee will help you develop your analytical and communication skills to help you in your future career. This is your chance to tell your future interviewer that you know the importance of finance within an organization.

MEMBER RELATIONS

Do you like interacting with people? Have an interest in learning how Human Resources really works? Then the Members Relation Committee is right for you! PROMOTIONS

Need an outlet for all that creative marketing energy? Want to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other desktop publishing programs? Join SMA's Promotions Committee! The biggest committee in SMA! We create all the promotional materials for all our events, organize the logistics of our promotional campaigns, and design our funky blue merchandise! Learn how to create inspiring visual designs, and promote an event successfully!

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Are you a creative? Do you love working with other people? If so, the Public Relations Committee in SMA might just be perfect for you! In the PR Committee, you can improve your writing and show off your linguistic superskills in articles, magazines and public relations pieces. We work with different people, whether they are SFU Business students or editors from local newspapers, to show them the awesomeness that is SMA! Be a part of it!
